The visit to this ancient monastic site of Hailes Abbey in Gloucestershire will offer both historical interest and a chance for peaceful contemplation. The abbey is now situated on the Cotswold Way footpath. It was also a famous focus for pilgrimage from the 13th to 16th centuries because it contained a relic of the Holy Blood. After our visit to the ruined abbey, there will also be the opportunity to go for a walk.
There is an admission charge for Hailes Abbey (approx. £7). Members of National Trust, English Heritage and Cadw gain free entry. Please bring your membership card on the day, as well as a packed lunch and rainproof clothing.
