Stephen Taylor studied violin, piano and organ from an early age. He held a number of organist appointments in the Thames Valley area before moving to Banbury in 1983. He gained his ARCO in 2003 and is currently a freelance organist. He is especially interested in improvisation, and studied briefly in London with leading organists, including Gerard Brooks, Sophie Veronique Choplin (France), and Franz Stoiber (Germany). He plays 1st violin in Banbury and Aylesbury Symphony Orchestras and also performs with the Banbury String players.
