Baptism and God’s Will

This is the poem someone wrote for their baptism which is about a time of new birth and life following Christ. The writer used the words she'll a lot as even though it’s simplistic language, the poem is about God’s will - and the poet uses female pronouns for God.

Like the changing of the season

Or how the sun succeeds the moon

I may start my life afresh

Like an infant from the womb

Where I was once lost

Now I will be found

Where there was once silence

Now there will be sound

Things I was once blind to

Now I'll clearly see

Where they once saw her

Now they will see me

For the journey I'm on

Starts with a promise

Between God and I

Each one of us honest

She'll wash away dirt

All the pain and the shame

In return I'll be good

I'll revere at her name

She'll stillen my iniquity

She'll vanquish my tears

She'll hold me to breast

Calming all of my fears

She'll heal the scars

Of my body and mind

She is all love and light

She is healing and kind

She makes no mistakes

No, nothings in vain

She'll reveal the purpose

For all of my pain

I'll listen to her

As she listens to me

She'll teach me to trust

To accept what's to be

She'll take my hand

Yes, she'll lead the way

I know when I want her

All I need do is pray
